I bought this magazine as a spare for a Savage Model 93 - 17 hmr rifle that I had bought. When I first tried the magazine with my rifle it was binding when I would put in in and take it out of my rifle. Since then I have used a lubricant on the magazine, and with time it is binding less when I use it in my rifle.

I had bought my Savage rifle used from a friend and it only came with one magazine. So I purchased this one and the only visual difference is this new one had indentations on the side. I guess this was to make it stronger. The old magazine slips right in and fits loose. The new one I have to wiggle back and forth and play with it to get it into the rifle. Once it''s in it fits real nice and tight. I don''t know alot about Savage rifles or magazines, I''m an AR guy. So I gave it a 4 because it looks and works great. Plus I wasn''t sure if it should fit tight and the old mag I had is just worn and loose or what.

It is always best to use the original manufactures magazines even though they might be a little more money. Made in Canada is better than China. Most places were out of these but this site usually comes through for me.
