The Spyderco Endura has been the cornerstone for all other knives. The blade steel has a flat grind Spyder Edge. The blade steel is VG10 with a spear point. The Spyderco handle is a black friction resistant volcano grip texture that won't slip in the wettest weather conditions. I've carried various versions of the spyderco for years. I've had to sharpen them, but I've never broken one. Once one gets the hang of the opening sequence, they are as fast to deploy as any automatic knife. There will be a Spyderco in my pocket always.
